To keep our staff as safe as possible, we've installed plexiglass barriers at reception, provided hand sanitizer to all workstations and masks to all staff, and marked out 2-metre safe zones around all workstations and in high-traffic areas. Additional, the Saik'uz Band Office is open on an appointment-only basis to ensure the tracking of those visiting the building, allow for proper sanitization after each visitor, and keep the number individuals in the building at any one time within the guidelines provided by BC's Public Health Officer.

Administrative Assistant, Health Centre

The Administrative Assistant supports the efficient, day-to-day operations of the Saik’uz Health Centre and supports the work of management and other staff. The Administrative Assistant’s main responsibilities include filing paperwork, answering phone calls and emails on behalf of Saik’uz Health, directing inquiries to the correct contact, preparing and submitting purchase orders and expense reports, restocking office supplies, arranging and attending meetings, and performing basic data entry. The Administrative Assistant is passionate about providing excellent customer service to all visitors and clients entering the Saik’uz Health Centre and is willing to participate in professional development as necessary.

Operations & Maintenance Assistant

Saik’uz First Nation seeks a hardworking Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Assistant to perform general maintenance duties throughout the community. As the O&M Assistant, you will be responsible for road maintenance (such as snow removal or ditch clearing), repairing maintenance tools, performing basic landscaping duties, inspecting utility projects (water, gas, and sewer), garbage pick up and removal, and providing support to the O&M Manager as needed. All activities must comply with provincial health and safety regulations.

To ensure success as the O&M Assistant, you should have manual dexterity, good physical strength, and be able to read blueprints and repair manuals. A top-class O&M Assistant is a jack-of-all-trades who can clean and landscape, repair equipment, and maintain a safe working area with a professional and helpful attitude.

Special Projects Coordinator

Position ID: EC-2201

Hours: Full-time, permanent

The Special Projects Coordinator delivers a suite of programs and services to perform the following duties. Their duties include developing policies and administering programs that promote industrial and commercial business investment within the community; conducting social and economic surveys within the area to assess development potential and future trends; planning business development projects through liaising with a variety of industry, commercial enterprise, and government agency representatives; reviewing feasibility studies or business plans; and providing advice on procedures and requirements for the lending agency and government funding approval. The Special Projects Coordinator may be required to conduct competitive analysis and market research for business ventures and will work closely with other business support agencies and financial institutions active in the Nechako region.

Additionally, the Special Projects Coordinator provides support to the Economic Development Manager and Executive Assistant. Such assistance can include the creation of project management calendars, the development of MOUs with potential business development partners, reviewing and presenting on appropriate opportunities, projects, and potential proponents available to Saik’uz First Nation, providing a monthly report on department activities to the Chief and Council, support for major, inter-departmental events such as elections and the Annual General Assembly, managing job boards, and assisting with internal and external communications via the monthly SFN newsletter and other marketing initiatives.
