Band Designate Representative

Hours: Full-time

The Band Designate Representative (BDR) provides quality and accountable support services to children and families of Saik’uz First Nation (the Nation) involved with the Ministry of Children & Family Development (MCFD), the judicial processes under the Family Law Act, or any other applicable child welfare legislation. The BDR seeks to address the needs of community members and achieve a pathway toward restorative policy and practice that supports and honours Dakelh cultural systems of caring and resiliency.

An On-Call Health Receptionist is a member of the Saik'uz Health Centre team. NNADAP Worker

The NNADAP (National Native Alcohol & Drug Abuse Program) Worker is responsible for providing counselling, intervention, and prevention to individuals struggling with alcoholism and drug abuse. They are responsible for orientating those community members who would like to pursue treatment of their abuses and to utilize all resources involved with addictions, such as police, social workers, health care workers, the community, and school and other professionals. Operations & Maintenance Assistant

Position ID: OM-2101

Hours: Full-time, permanent

Saik’uz First Nation seeks a hardworking Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Assistant to perform general maintenance duties throughout the community. As the O&M Assistant, you will be responsible for road maintenance (such as snow removal or ditch clearing), repairing maintenance tools, performing basic landscaping duties, inspecting utility projects (water, gas, and sewer), garbage pick up and removal, and providing support to the O&M Manager as needed. All activities must comply with provincial health and safety regulations.

To ensure success as the O&M Assistant, you should have manual dexterity, good physical strength, and be able to read blueprints and repair manuals. A top-class O&M Assistant is a jack-of-all-trades who can clean and landscape, repair equipment, and maintain a safe working area with a professional and helpful attitude.

Youth Support Worker

Hours: Full-time

The Youth Support Worker (YSW) works closely with the Band Representative Designate, and Administrative Assistant. The YSW is responsible for delivering programs and services using a holistic model of care in a culturally respectful and safe manner. The YSW advises and supports culturally based programs in Saik’uz First Nation that interface with community members, community care providers, and Carrier Sekani Family Services (CSFS) staff.

COVID-19 Safety Precautions:
To keep our staff as safe as possible, we've installed plexiglass barriers at reception, provided hand sanitizer to all workstations and masks to all staff, and marked out 2-metre safe zones around all workstations and in high-traffic areas. Additional, the Saik'uz Band Office is open on an appointment-only basis to ensure the tracking of those visiting the building, allow for proper sanitization after each visitor, and keep the number individuals in the building at any one time within the guidelines provided by BC's Public Health Officer.
