Band Designate Representative

Job Summary: Saik’uz First Nation seeks a full-time Band Designate Representative (BDR). This position requires a highly motivated individual with community programming experience and training. The BDR is responsible for the development of prevention and educational programs, one-on-one support, and ensuring families have opportunities to increase their ability to effectively care for their children and develop or maintain healthy family dynamics that promote resilience. The BDR agrees to uphold the Child, Family, and Community Service Act and Aboriginal Operations Procedures and Standards Indicators, ensures that all Band members are fully aware of their rights, and considers the child’s interest and welfare paramount.

Additionally, the BDR liaises with other First Nation Band Representatives, agencies, and legal counsel, accompanies Ministry of Child & Family Development workers during investigations, and supports and works with the Carrier Sekani Family Preservation Team and CSFS Community Wellness Team. The BDR also prepares, responds to, and processes legal documents as required by the Court.

This is a full-time position based on a 35-hour work week.

Job Summary: The Communications Officer is responsible for initiating, executing, and supporting the activities in the areas of internal and external communication, media relations, education and promotional plans, and publication management with outcomes that support the overall goals and maintain a positive public image of Saik’uz First Nation. The Communications Officer will develop, implement, and evaluate communications strategies; draft and edit various communications documents for Saik’uz First Nation; plan, organize, and implement communications initiatives on behalf of Saik’uz First Nations member communities when required.

Community Health Representative

Job Summary: The Community Health Representative (CHR) is responsible for participating in the delivery of a high standard of community health, treatment, and surveillance programs to provide quality health prevention and treatment in the community. As a member of the Health Care Team, the CHR is also responsible for liaising between patients, families, the community, and health care providers to ensure patients and families understand their conditions and treatment and are receiving appropriate care. The CHR also educates and monitors the community for general health in epidemics and emergencies.

Cook, Daycare

Early Childhood Educator

Job Summary: The Early Childhood Educator interacts with children, teachers, administration, and family members. Recreation Coordinator

The Recreation Coordinator maintains confidentiality and security of client and Saik’uz First Nation records and reporting systems in the pursuit of these objectives.
