Elder’s Coordinator

Krista is from the frog clan and was born and raised in Saik’uz. Krista has been working for Saik’uz First Nation on and off since 1986 and has primarily worked with the Elders of this community. 

Krista’s role is to transport, fundraise, and to plan activities for the Elders as well as to check on their well-being on a regular basis. Throughout the year Krista organizes one of the Elders biggest fundraisers which is the community bingo which is held here in the community at the Multiplex.

On occasion, she hosts the ‘Elder’s Tea’ to provide a place for our Elders to visit and socialize. Sometimes we have stylists come in to do the Elder’s hair and we have also had our local paramedic come out to do health checks at the same time. Krista has a big heart and cares a great deal for our elders and we are very lucky to have her.
