Saik’uz Housing

The Saik’uz First Nation housing strives in delivering and operating safe, effective and fair housing on reserve. The Saik’uz housing staff works with the Housing Committee which consists of seven (7) members that represent as many families from the community. The current options for renovation and new construction at this time is through Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada (I.S.C) and Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (C.M.H.C).

Saik’uz Housing works with the Operation & Maintenance staff, First Nations Health Authority, I.S.C., C.M.H.C., staff members and membership.

Rental Housing

The on and off reserve members can apply for band owned rental units. Members
have to fill out a Rental application to be on the waiting list. When a unit becomes
available, the housing committee will discuss and make a recommendation to
Council. Then, the Council will discuss and make the final decision.

Home Maintenance

Saik’uz housing will be planning a workshop with our current contractor Alair
Homes to provide for current tenants, the date will be announced.
